We aim to provide skilled, experienced, and professionally trained Support Workers to work with service users. Our Support Workers work in partnership with service users and their carers to enable them to live a fulfilling life within their home or to support them in the community. At Shared Care Services, our main principle is to achieve & maintain high-quality services and attain the highest possible service user satisfaction.

We are providing home care support according to the service user's assessed needs under the Domiciliary Care National Minimum Standards and Care Standard Act 2000. All support is delivered to children with disabilities in line with a care plan agreed with the Commissioners and the Service Users.

We work in partnership with service users and their carers and involve service users in their care as far as possible. It is essential to ensure that the children remain the focus of the support package and that their preferences and opinions are listened to when planning and delivering the services.

Safeguarding

Shared Care Services has a clear policy on Safeguarding, which is regularly reviewed and updated. The purpose of the Safeguarding Policy and Good Practice Guide is to ensure that appropriate action is taken when a child or young person is suspected by our care staff of being subject to, or at risk of abuse.

Needs and Risk Assessments

Before providing the services, Needs & Risk Assessments are completed on all service users to help manage both health & safety and children's welfare. The service user's needs are matched carefully with the skills and experience of the care worker.

Our Services

Over 60% of our current service users have been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and ADHD.

We provide professional, person-centred, outcome-based driven domiciliary care services that ensure achieving the best outcome for service users. Our services include befriending, therapeutic activities, programmes to address difficult & challenging behaviour, support, assistance & encouragement in developing personal care and independence skills. We also provide mobility training and outreach support services in the community.

Cultural Diversity

We are supporting service users from diverse backgrounds and have recruited staff to reflect service users' cultural needs. Our staff have been able to enhance communication by speaking with service users in their preferred language and understanding other communication methods like BSL, Makaton, PECS and the use of the non-verbal expression.

We believe that where we can provide staff from similar cultural backgrounds, it eases communication and benefits service users and their families. We can provide staff who are fluent in South Asian and African languages. In total, our staff speak 19 different languages other than English, including Urdu, Hindi, Somali, Yoruba, Arabic, Bengali/Sylheti, Punjabi, Gujarati.

Service Users

Introductory Visits

For the convenience of service users, the introductory visits are carried out at their residence. During the visit service, users' documents are given.

Continuity

Continuity provides the service users with their usual care worker whenever possible.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is paramount to our business operations. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Care workers will not divulge any details on service users’ personal circumstances without an agreement unless failure to do so would put the user at risk. Also, we strongly believe in keeping all records secure and confidential, as well as accessible to the service users themselves.

Dignity and Respect

All our Support Workers treat the users with care, politeness, and respect and are sensitive to people's gender, ethnic backgrounds, cultural needs, and sexuality.

Punctuality

Our staff and care workers recognise that punctuality and reliability are important to service users and their carers.

Information & Involvement

Service users will be told about all the decisions made concerning them. We welcome complaints or comments regarding the services we offer.

Flexibility

We will provide a responsive and flexible service wherever possible to meet assessed needs, and also cover urgent situations whenever possible.
